A UK charity wanted to increase its reach and scale and was in the early stages of considering an acquisition. They wanted someone independent to identify a shortlist of organisations for potential acquisition based on a range of criteria including ethos, location, financial health and service provision.
I worked on this project with previous client who is an expert in this area. Using data in the public domain we identified a full ‘competitor’ set and worked together on developing a shortlist of 40 potential acquisition targets. Each of these was analysed in detail. The client received a full report comparing each of the organisation to each other across a wide range of variables and a final ranking of each of the organisations in the form of an interactive model that would automatically re-adjust the ranking based on the weight the client apportioned to each variable.

Insights & Outcome

This project enabled the client to have rigorous, evidence-based conversations with key stakeholders as they embark on this journey. In addition, they have a more detailed understanding of their own organisation in the context of the area in which they operate.

What the client said...

Susie’s greatest strength in this project was her ability to understand the task, and deliver on it, all whilst adding insights which we hadn’t even considered considering. Without doubt, we would work with her again.
